The general-class amateur radio license is the intermediate-level amateur radio license issued by the National Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (NTRC) in the Commonwealth of Dominica. This course will prepare novice-class amateurs to upgrade their novice license (J72) to general-class (J73).
Upgrading from novice to general class comes with many privileges which include access to the HF bands, satellite, data, and all modes.
This course is only available to members of W.A.R.A.
The amateur radio novice-class is the entry-level amateur radio license issued by the National Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (NTRC) in the Commonwealth of Dominica. This course will prepare newcomers in the field of amateur radio to take the exam required by the NTRC to be issued with an amateur radio license.
This course is designed to run for ten weeks and consists of both theory and practical exercises. The course covers the fundamentals of radio, basic electricity and electronics principles and circuits, antennas, radio wave propagation, amateur radio equipment, local and international rules and regulations which govern the operation and licensing of amateur radio, and amateur radio safety.
